Tēnā koutou poets, friends and whānau of poets, teachers, organisers, and great poetry people
Here’s Landing Press’s new project for 2022/23: an anthology of poems about generations.
When we think about ‘generations’ we often think about people: grandparents, parents, children. But ‘generations’ means more than that. ‘Generations’ can be about the continuity of an idea, a feeling, or a language. It can be about change. ‘Generations’ can span countries. ‘Generations’ can hold wonderful memories through shared history with a person. It can also hold tough memories.
Whether you’re an established writer, an in-your-notes-app-midnight-poet, or this is your first submission with your first-ever writing, we want to read it. What does being a part of a generation mean to you? What are the things that pass between generations? What do you think when you see the word “GENERATION”?
You can send poems in languages other than English, but please include an English translation.
You can send us up to 3 poems. Maximum length of each poem 40 lines. Put each poem on a separate page, and with each poem, include your name and contact details (email address, postal address and ph no).
Send your poems to landingpressgenerations@gmail.com. Please send your poems in a Word doc, not as a pdf.
Or you can post your poems (including hand-written poems) to Landing Press, 97 Tireti Road, Titahi Bay Porirua 5022.
We are planning to publish this anthology in late 2023. All writers included in the anthology will get a complimentary copy of the book.
